Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of task-rabbit.net and the booking services offered through it. They cover how the marketplace works, what you agree to as a customer or a Tasker, and where the limits of the platform sit.
The nature of the service
What Taskrabbit is, and what it is not, when a job is booked through the site.
A marketplace between you and an independent Tasker
Taskrabbit operates an online marketplace that connects customers with independent Taskers who provide household and small handyman services. When you book, you are contracting with that Tasker directly. Taskrabbit is not a party to the agreement between a customer and a Tasker, and Taskers are independent professionals rather than employees, agents, or representatives of Taskrabbit.
What the platform supplies is the connective tissue around the job: search across task categories, booking with the time and price shown at confirmation, payment records, and support when something does not go to plan. Everything that happens on site — the description, the agreed scope, the arrival window — is what both sides rely on.
Eligibility
Who may use the site
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the site. By using the service, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to enter into these terms.
Accounts are personal. They may not be shared or transferred without our consent, and you are responsible for the activity that takes place under your account. If your details change — a new phone number, a different service address — update them so Taskers can reach you at the right time.
Before you book
- Confirm the address and access details are the ones the Tasker will actually meet.
- Read the rate shown at confirmation — that is the amount you agree to pay.
- Keep the account details current so booking confirmations reach you.
Booking and payment
What you agree to pay
When you book a task, you agree to pay the rate shown at the time of confirmation, along with any approved adjustments for scope changes. Payment is processed through the platform.
If a scope change occurs during a visit, it must be approved before it is charged. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are shown at the time of booking and form part of these terms.
Responsibilities
Both sides carry duties once a booking is confirmed. These are the ones that come up most often.
Customer responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate job descriptions, disclose relevant conditions such as parking, stairs, pets, and wall type, and provide safe access to the work area.
- Do not request work that requires a licensed trade professional or a permit.
- Treat Taskers with respect and comply with applicable laws.
- Describe the job well enough that the Tasker can bring the right tools.
Tasker responsibilities
Taskers agree to provide services in a professional manner, arrive within the booked window, communicate changes promptly, and comply with platform rules and applicable laws.
- Taskers set their own rates and accept or decline jobs at their discretion.
- Taskers are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and licensing where required.
- Raise a scope problem before starting, not after the work is underway.
Prohibited conduct
What will get an account suspended
You may not use the site to request illegal work, harass other users, post false reviews, circumvent platform payment, or interfere with the operation of the site. You may not scrape, copy, or republish content from the site without permission. Accounts involved in prohibited conduct may be suspended or terminated.
Scope limits
Jobs the platform will not carry
The platform is intended for household tasks and small handyman work that do not require permits or licensed trade work. Taskrabbit may decline or cancel bookings that fall outside these limits.
Inside scope: assembly, mounting, moving help, yard work, small repair
Outside scope: electrical panel work, new circuits, gas lines, major plumbing, roofing, and structural work. If a job needs a permit or a licensed trade, it belongs with a licensed professional rather than on this platform.
Reviews, content and liability
What you post, and where responsibility sits
Ratings and reviews are how the next customer decides, so the rules around them matter. The same applies to the limits of what the platform can promise and what it can be held to.
Reviews and content
Reviews must reflect genuine experiences from completed bookings. You grant Taskrabbit a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use content you submit, such as reviews and job descriptions, for operating and improving the platform. We may remove content that violates these terms.
Disclaimers
The site and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Taskrabbit does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any Tasker will perform to a particular standard. To the extent permitted by law, Taskrabbit disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Taskrabbit is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or from services performed by a Tasker. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Taskrabbit harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of a third party.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
Revisions are posted on this page
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If a change narrows what you can ask for or alters how payment is handled, it will be written plainly here rather than buried in a footnote.
